Android 12: 32 New Features You Can’t Miss

As you know, every year, Google launches upgrades with new features and customization of operating systems. Big news for all Android users: the Android 12 will be in a limited edition Smartphone next month. Google has released Android 12 as a beta version, and as for this, Google revealed some of the features that they upgraded in Android 12. But they unveil some of their best features for the official release event. So, the features I listed in the article were officially released by the Android 12 developers in the beta event program.

Android 12 features 

Android 12 brings a major change in the refresh design using UI. The main focus is to improve user data privacy with great security aspects, data sharing, and easier updates. So, they make very small changes in the small UI to give users great performance.

Colorful UI Design with theme customization.

In All Android versions, they improve UI design to make users comfortable. To make users comfortable, they design a new UI system. Google is calling this upgraded UI a ‘Material You.’ This means the user can choose colour customization and make their design set in the wallpaper. That is possible by the Google UI system, which has a colour extraction protocol that picks the primary or secondary colour from the main screen wallpaper and applies it to the whole system.  These colours are quickly set in the keyboard, widgets, lock screen, and maybe Icons.

Extra Large Clock widgets in the Lock Screen

As a part of the new UI design, they will manage mega-sized clock widgets that they apply to the lock screen. The lock screen colour is customized to the wallpaper colour. However, it is possible to customize lock screen colour and clock widgets from all the other smartphone companies because they might be using their designed theme, like Android 12.

Quick Settings of Tiles and New Tiles for Smart Home Controls, Internet, Mic, and Camera Access

Google enables a new feature of quick settings tiles in Android 12. They included many shapes, including larger tiles and shapes like horizontal rounded rectangles. However, they included the best three slides to make users comfortable using Smart Home Devices, wallets, Internet, Mic Access, and last camera Access. 

The SmartPhone tiles provide a shortcut to access the IoT device’s control easily.

The Wallet tiles provide a shortcut to access your wallet to make the payment easier. 

Where the internet tiles replaced current tiles, the internet option has been separated into WiFi or Data in recent Android devices. But, in Android 12, you have to click on only one tap; they show mobile data settings or WiFi settings, and you can easily configure which option you choose.

Conservation Widgets, New Design, and Widgets Organisation. 

Widgets are the most important Icon that helps to make the Operation System( Home Screen) great. For that look, Google introduced new designs for common widgets like Clocks, weather, and conversation. They look so attractive in design, and their colour combination customization looks great. There were too many design options for all Widgets, especially the Clock Widget.

Suppose you download conversation apps like Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp. They created their widgets to help users to talk with people very easily. These conversation Widgets can show you unread chats and message counts. In the weather widgets, many designs and options allow users to choose their style. 

Your Widgets design has been simplified. The widgets that are shown are not created by default.  These enable a new feature of Widgets Picker. The widget picker shows you the app name and other available tiles. You can use it as once you click on the app, you will get another variant of Widgets, and you could be previewed. 

Security Improvement and Privacy Dashboard

As you know, Google is upgrading its operating system and improving its security and user privacy systems. Google is always focusing on user Security and privacy. They have included a Privacy Dashboard, which provides you with all the details of the timeline of your unsecured apps, which are accessing your camera, location, and microphone in the last 24 hours. 

Indicates Camera and Microphone Access

Let’s Move to Android 12 Privacy Improvement; Google introduced and displays privacy indicators. 

For this reason, Google Android 12 introduced two quick settings tiles: Disable Camera or Disable Microphone. You can suggest your name in these tiles. This Disable camera tile helps you quickly turn off the camera in the system. This means no one in the system can access your camera. Like the Disable Camera, Disable Mic disables the access of the microphone in the whole system; this means no one app can use your mic. 

App Access the Approximate location

Many apps are accessing your location, so stop these apps from accessing your location. Google is offering 2 Location Options that are Approximate Location and accurate Locations. To avoid giving access to Accurate Location, you can submit an approximate location to the app. For example, if you ordered a cab like Uber, they wanted the exact and accurate location, but if you are using those apps that don’t require your location, you can access Approximate Location. 

Notification System UI Improved

In Android 12, Google improves its notification design. They include large app icons and changes in the prominent count of staked notifications. Google removed the stacked notification at the bottom beside the arrow mark to see the notification. They include the snooze option when you are working on your important work.

Featuring Easy WiFi password-sharing

Google enables a smart feature to share passwords via QR code or nearby sharing easily.

Android 12 System Update Via Google Play Store

Google has introduced the new Android Run Time (ART) for Project Mainline with Android 12. You don’t want to update or install a complete Operating System for certain features. However, that means you will get the fastest updates for OS directly from the Google Play Store.

App Hibernation in Android 12

Not all apps are used by users so that many users can use these apps in Hibernation. Google provides new Hibernation features in Android 12. This feature includes when you activate certain apps you rarely use; all permissions, notification permissions, and cache are removed directly by the system. For this feature, your phone can store a lot of memory. So, this feature is more helpful for devices with less storage memory. However, these hibernated apps do not consume your battery.

As usual, Google includes new emojis with every new Android version. Now, they are updating and presenting a new list of Emojis.

New and Smooth Animations in Android 12

Android 12 presents a newer and Smoother animation than the Android 12. They present Jiggly Scrolling Animation; you can see that only when you list or read something. They include a ripple animation in the click when listing something or featuring a chat bubble for smoother animation. 

App optimizations for Large Screen

Google has launched a new app optimization segment for large screens. This app optimization feature is used for devices connected to TVs, tablets, and mostly foldable smartphones.

Power Menu Shortcuts in the Quick Settings

Since the Android 12, the power button has yet to be traditionally opened. Google creates a separate screen power menu button in the quick settings tiles to make users comfortable. However, all Android smartphones have no guarantee of power button behaviour. Some Brands should retain the power button to show the Power menu.

Supports AVC, AVIF, GIF, HDR, and HEIF (Encoding and Decoding)

Now, the latest version of Android 12 supports AVIF image format, which offers the best quality images in the same size as a comparison of JPEG files. The new Android version also features an encoding or decoding of AVC, HDR, and HEIF file formats. AVC and HEIF provide the best quality images or videos the same size as JPEG and support GIF file format.

Android 12 also enables scrolling features for at least all running Android devices. Most of the best OEM companies like ASUS, iQOO, Realme, Vivo, Samsung, Redmi or Mi, OPPO, and OnePlus. These Companies already have these features and have been used for almost 2-3 years.

Google presents new fonts to help you make the best screenshots, including text. Now, the screenshot becomes floatable, which means you can click the screenshot anywhere on the screen. 

App Pairs Features

This App Pairs feature is designed for foldable phones that want to run multiple apps on multiple Screens, such as Samsung Galaxy’s Foldable Smartphones. From this feature, you can swap the App positions by double-tap. 

Power Button Shortcut For the launch of Google Assistant

In Android 12, the power button is launching a Google Assistant. Browse the Power Menu Options to Shut Down or Restart.

Extra Granular Battery Statistics Feature

Now, Android 12 enables the battery life graph to show more Granular Data. In the battery Graph, you will see that the graph is divided into two-hour windows, each with its bar. You can click on the bar, and they will tell you which apps and hardware components use the battery too much at which time. 

Clipboard Data Access Notification Features

Clipboard Data Access feature helps you to secure your Clipboard data. Whenever your app is accessing your Clipboard data or any data, this feature notifies you in the display with the App name or Icon. 

No Location Data If your device is Scanning Bluetooth Devices

No Location Data feature helps you to not share Location in the Bluetooth Sharing process. If you are transferring your data with the help of Bluetooth, they will ask you to get access to your location.

Fixed Google Photos Out of Sync Errors

In many Android versions, there is an error from the background of Google Photos. So there is an error: Out of Sync is no longer available on Android 12.

Android 12 Support Bluetooth LE Audio Feature

Now, Android 12 Supports a Bluetooth LE Audio Codec, Which enables a new standard Low-Power Audio Transmission by Bluetooth. It uses a low-complexity communication codec, which improves audio quality over the SBC codec.

Now, Android 12 presents a new feature that will make the transition between audio and audio smoother. Then suddenly, you hear the notification sound; once your notification sound is complete, your phone can smoothly shift to the playing music.

Android 12 introduced an in-built digital remote control app for its Android TV. Now, the user doesn’t want to download any remote apps for Android TV. This app also offers phone keyboard typing features for searching on Android TV.

Android 12 now features Digital Car Keys and a Smart Home Lock. Various automobile companies now manufacture Cars, including the famous BMW Company, and make Smart Home Devices in collaboration with Google to manufacture Products. With this feature, you can lock or unlock/the engine on or off with the help of these digital car keys. But in some compatible Cars. 

System-Level Management of Trash Files feature

This management feature still needs to be completed. They are working on them. The main motive of this feature is to centralize the trash files management system. This means that the storage menu now shows you how many trash files keep your memory space and will allow you to delete all trash files. 

Picture-In-Picture Resizing Feature

In Android 12, you can resize your Picture in the Picture Window. This means when you’re playing any video inside of PIP Window, you can reduce or enlarge the size of the video you played. It all depends on your preferences.
